What We're About
Turner Boxing Academy (TBA) is a non-profit youth boxing club operated by volunteers who are passionate about the sport and the positive impact it has on young people. The academy is based inside the Turner Recreation Center in Kansas City, KS. We are dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for kids to learn and practice the art of boxing.
Our academy is committed to instilling discipline, confidence, and a strong work ethic in our young athletes. We believe in the power of boxing to build character and resilience, and we are passionate about helping our students unlock their full potential both inside and outside the ring.

Our Mission
The sole purpose of this program is to use the sport of amateur boxing as a vehicle to teach young men and women the value of work ethic, sportsmanship, and the relationship between setting a goal and obtaining it through self discipline and healthy exercise. In the process, we will provide positive role models for youngsters in a facility that can be a safe haven from the dangers of the streets.
In addition to the goals of our mission statement, we wish to establish a productive, nationally competitive amateur boxing program in our area.
We also wish to promote a safe, properly coached, highly supervised, amateur boxing program that can be extremely fulfilling and rewarding to the youth in our community. Amateur boxing provides a sport for youth that may not identify well with team sports, but wish to rely on his or her own merits and to be rewarded individually for those accomplishments. We will provide a disciplined, well structured athletic system to help develop responsibility and discipline, both in and out of the ring.

Our Safety Policy
Safety is king at the Turner Boxing Academy. Head Coach John Brown has 60 years of coaching experience and is widely known as the Godfather of safety in boxing. Parents are always welcomed to observe.
