Whether you're a beginner looking to learn the fundamentals or an experienced fighter honing your skills, our academy provides expert coaching and a supportive training environment. Under the guidance of our experienced coaches, we emphasize technique, conditioning, and mental toughness to help you reach your full potential.

Our training programs are designed with strict safety protocols, including the use of protective gear, supervised sparring sessions, and structured skill progression to ensure that every student trains in a secure and controlled environment.

Join Our Competition Team
Why should you box for TBA? Joining the competitive team comes with some amazing benefits—all at no cost to you. As a team member, your training is completely free, along with your USA Boxing registration, team uniform, and even travel expenses for out-of-town competitions. It’s a great opportunity to train hard, compete, and grow in the sport without the financial burden.

Coach John Brown has led Turner Boxing Academy as director and head coach since founding it in 2005. With more than 60 years of experience in the sport, his involvement spans every level of boxing—as an athlete, coach, and trainer.

Beyond coaching, John is also a pioneer in boxing equipment. He founded Ringside in 1977, developing and marketing gear that became widely used in the sport. His leadership has extended to national and local organizations, having served as President and Vice President of USA Boxing, held key roles in the local LBC, and acted as franchise delegate and Vice President of KC Golden Gloves.

A respected figure in the boxing world and a successful entrepreneur, John believes his greatest legacy lies in mentoring young athletes and guiding them to succeed—both inside the ring and beyond.
